Ratatouille Artwork Charity Auction

Rebecca let us know about a current Ratatouille art auction on eBay that is going to benefit the Sonoma Children's Home:

Ratatouille Art by BellachAn unprecedented donation has been made to the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home: and it’s going up for auction on EBAY this week! The donated item is a one-of-a-kind animation artwork created by Darryl Bellach of Kenwood, California.

The artwork, entitled “What’s Cooking” from Pixar’s Ratatouille is a rare piece of collectable art. Pixar has authorized only one artist, Darryl Bellach, to create his unique, three-dimensional art.  To date, there exist only 25 original artworks in Darryl Bellach’s inimitable style.   These 3-dimensional pieces, including “Finding Nemo”, “Monsters, Inc.”, “The Incredibles”, and “Cars”, hang in homes of elite animation art collectors, the last piece selling at auction for $42,000.

From Academy Award-winning director Brad Bird and the amazing storytellers at Pixar Animation Movie Studios, RATATOUILLE, is an original comedy of about one of the most unlikely friendships imaginable. The film's protagonist is a rat named Remy who dares to dream the impossible dream of becoming a gourmet chef in a five-star French restaurant. Together with a down-and-out garbage boy named Linguini, the pair carves their own imaginative path to becoming the greatest chef in Paris.

This one-of-a-kind artwork features the Parisian five-star French restaurant kitchen along with "Remy" (voiced by Patton Oswalt) and "Linguini" (voiced by Lou Romano) who are the star characters of the film. This substantial piece of art is 52" high by 38" wide by 2" deep. The entire piece is offset with the "Ratatouille" logo that is also three dimensional.

This exclusive, creative, and unique artwork is signed by 12 of Pixar's most famous including John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Brad Lewis, David Eisenmann, Jason Deamer, Mark Walsh and other celebrity talents from the movie. Jason Deamer who is the Character Art Director for Pixar Animation Studio's has drawn a one-of-a-kind picture of Remy on the back of this piece.

The winner will receive a framed, companion photograph of the signatures on the backside of the artwork to hang along side “What’s Cooking?”.

The artist, Darryl Bellach, has generously donated this one-of-a-kind piece, “What’s Cooking?” to the Valley of the Moon Children's Home.  The entire proceeds, less any EBay fees, will go DIRECTLY TO THE VALLEY OF THE MOON CHILDREN’S HOME.  The high bidder may find that all or part of the amount paid is considered a donation to a non-profit is tax deductible.

The Valley of the Moon Children’s Home is Sonoma County’s only home for children who are victims of abuse, abandonment, or neglect.  Its mission is to positively impact the present and future lives of the children and to assure the children have positive opportunities in becoming productive and equal members of the community. More than 1,200 children from infants to age 18 are served at the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home each year.  For more information of the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home please visit their website at http://www.vomchildrensfoundation.org/.

Anyone interested in bidding or following the exciting auction, go use the link above or go to EBAY, type in PIXAR, RATATOUILLE, ANIMATION ART. The auction ends Monday November 19.
